I didn’t start out as a fitness expert. In fact, I started out on a completely different path. I got an undergraduate degree in political science and French, and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University. Then I went to work overseas for a number of years, managing projects to alleviate poverty and respond to conflict and disasters in poor countries. Finally I ended up in Washington DC doing advocacy to help those living in poverty and conflict around the world. Although I loved the work, I became more and more excited about my favorite hobby, fitness, and I eventually decided to make the transition to leave my job and open my own personal training and wellness coaching business.

I am passionate about helping my clients reclaim their bodies, feel healthy, fit and strong and live their dream of being the best they can be. I know that changing your level of fitness will change every aspect of your life. You will feel more confident, have more energy, and love being in your body. There is nothing better than watching the transformation my clients go through. The smiles are priceless.

I know how it feels to work hard to accomplish goals. I was not particularly athletic in my youth. I discovered how to use the same strategies and tools I teach my clients and worked hard at improving my own health and wellness. I even took it to the next level, and I placed top five in multiple figure competitions over the last five years, ran two half marathons and several shorter distance races. And, of course, I have struggled myself to stay on track, to keep moving, and to eat healthfully on a consistent basis. I get how it feels when beliefs about yourself limit what you try to do. I too have heard the voices in my head telling me “I can’t.” I also get how both busyness and inertia can keep us from what we know will really feed our body and soul. I’ve been there.

If I can do it, so can you. Whatever your goals are – to lose a little (or a lot of) weight, become stronger, to eat better and feel great, to let your inner athlete shine – I want to show you how to be successful and create the results you desire. I meet you right where you are and support you in getting where you want to go.

The tools and tactics I used to transform my body for figure competitions will be  just as effective for you in your efforts at getting fit, and reclaiming your body. I want you to know exactly how to lose weight, change your physique and incorporate exercise and healthy eating once and for all in your life. Most important, I want you to have fun and feel supported in the process.

I became certified as a personal trainer, weight management consultant and group exercise instructor, as well as becoming a Certified Wellness Coach, because I really want to make a difference in the lives of my clients. I get so excited watching and supporting personal transformation. Amazing things happen and I get to be a part of it!

In my spare time, you might find me reading in my sun room, enjoying time with my husband, family and friends, or going for a run. Sometimes I might be sweating through my own exercise routine, or learning something new to pass on to clients. I’m told my laugh is infectious. I love nature, and some of my favorite words are:  positive, giving, motivated, joyful and open.
